A little bit about us

Our story,
so far.

We first met online, only to discover that we’d actually been working in the same office for eight years without ever really crossing paths.

What started with a coffee at work soon became something much more. We started dating, our lives gradually became one, and before long we were building a family together.

Today, we’re a blended family of five. We’ve brought our family and our home together, shared the chaos and joy that comes with raising three children, and built a life that feels completely ours.

Then, on a trip to Cuba, Alex asked the question that brought us to this next chapter.

So now, after years of somehow being just a few desks apart, finding each other at exactly the right time, building a family and a home together, we get to do the thing we’re most excited about of all — get married, surrounded by the people we love.

We’re so excited to celebrate with the people who mean the most to us. Instead of a single day, we’re inviting you to join us for an unforgettable weekend on the volcanic slopes of Mount Vesuvius.

Exact timings will be added closer to the date. We will only arrange a group airport transfer if guests are able to travel together on the same flight.

Friday · Welcome

Your Italian escape begins.

    Land at Naples International Airport and make your way to the guest meeting point.

    Travel to Vesuvio Inn

    If guests are travelling together on the same flight, we will arrange a group transfer. Otherwise, guests will need to make their own way to the hotel.

    Check in & settle down

    Unpack, take in the views and get ready for the first evening.

    Discover the vines and volcanic wines of Tenuta Sorrentino.

    A slow start with breakfast, coffee and the mountain views.

    Relax with friends and family before getting ready.

A slow Sunday beneath Vesuvius.

    Ease into the morning with breakfast, coffee and time to catch up after the celebrations.

    Soak up the view

    Take your time, enjoy the terrace and the Vesuvius views, and make the most of the last few hours at the hotel.

    Checkout

    Pack up and check out of Vesuvio Inn before beginning the journey home — or carrying on your Italian adventure.

  4. 04
    Onward travel

    If guests are travelling together on the same flight, we’ll confirm a group airport transfer. Otherwise, onward travel will be arranged individually.

We know that joining us in Italy means flights, accommodation and time away from home, and we don’t take that lightly. Please don’t bring a gift or give us money — making the trip to celebrate with us is already more than enough.

Having the people we love together for this weekend is genuinely all we want.

What should I wear?

The dress code is smart casual. The wedding is outdoors, so comfortable shoes are a wise move.

Who is included in my invitation?

Your invitation is for the people named on it only. Children are invited only where their names are shown, and additional guests should not be added to the RSVP.

What do we need to pay for?

Guests arrange and pay for their own flights and accommodation. The vineyard tour, meals, wine, ceremony celebrations, party, pizza and open bar listed on this site are covered by us.

How do I book Vesuvio Inn?

Email info@vesuvioinn.it, quote “Mel & Alex Wedding”, and ask for either the €120 Deluxe Double or €140 Junior Suite wedding rate.

Which airport should I use?

Naples International Airport is the nearest. Flight-detail requirements are still TBC and will be confirmed once flights are available and we have booked ours.

Will airport transfers be provided?

We will arrange a group transfer only if guests are able to travel together on the same flight. If flights do not align, guests will need to make their own way to Vesuvio Inn.

Are you having a gift list?

No. Travelling to Italy and staying for the weekend is already a big commitment, so please don’t bring a gift or give us money. Having you there to celebrate with us is more than enough.

When is the RSVP deadline?
